About us
Our family agricultural farm OPG GOSPODNETIĆ, is situated on the island of Brač, in Postira, a small fisherman and touristic place, situated on the northern shore of the island of Brač.The family property is a 100 years old and is spread on 20 hectares.Here we do olive- growing, grape growing and sheep farming on the wide hilly pastures in the proximity of the house.
Our ancestors, for centuries have carefully selected their native Croatian varieties of olives suitable for our climate.Olive trees prefer a lot of light and our climate with plenty of sun is perfect for olive growing.Dalmatia is the sunniest and warmest part of Croatia.We are continuing the tradition of our ancestors, we are clearing the macchia herbs, we build piles with crushed stones.We fill the coves with the Dalmatian red soil and thus create the ground for planting olive trees.Our olive groves were raised on the slopes of the karst terrain.Last but not the least, clearing of infertile land and the construction of stone walls, which descend towards the sea, our olives and olive groves significantly influenced and created the landscape of our homeland.The optimal level of maturity of our olives, gives the oil a high range of polyphenols- natural antioxidants. Polyphenols are very healthy and prevent the oil to perish.The medium intensity of bitterness and pungency are the main characteristics of our olive oil.
On the eastern side of our olive groves there is our vineyard bathed in the sun.The results of these quality varieties lie in the harmony of sun, stones, sea and vines Babić, Plavac mali and Plavac veliki are indigenous, long-living and resistant varieties of central and southern Dalmatia.They are extraordinary adjusted to the hot Mediterranean climate and to the scant Dalmatian stone.The entire vineyard is processed by hand and according to the environmental standards.To our visitors we offer tours to vineyards and olive groves, visits to the wine cellar, which is a part of our house and Apartments Kate.
Our wish was to return to the customs of our ancenstors, to the peace and quiet and to the sounds of nature.Away from the crowds, rush and stress OPG Gospodnetić offers to all its guests a pleasant stay in the Apartments Kate that are a blend of tradition and modern technology.Apartments Kate are located in a stone house that we renovated and from whom we preserved the original format, thus respecting the traditions and the Dalmatian architecture.You can come and relax, enjoy nature, and rest in the quiet atmosphere of the place.A private mini zoo, a rich green garden and an old family wine cellar are also making part of our Apartments Kate and are at your service.
Accommodation in Apartments Kate is just a five minutes’ walk away from the city, the waterfront, restaurants and beaches.The maximum capacity of accommodation is 10 people; Apartment 5 + 1 and Apartment 2 +2. Guests can avail of the balcony and terrace with a sea view, lounge chairs, outdoor swimming pool, a rich green garden, barbecue, private mini zoo, private parking, free wireless internet, satellite TV, dishwasher, washing dishes, cutlery and cooking , tea and coffee maker, microwave oven, air conditioning, heating, bed linen, towels, washing machine.
